Curriculum
Orkidz Preschool implements a dynamic, play-based curriculum that weaves artistic expression
and practical life skills into daily routines. Our play-based curriculum includes enrichment opportunities such as yoga, music, gardening, and simple science experiments—activities designed to spark curiosity and build confidence.

Our curriculum prepares children for kindergarten by building on the experiences they gain through daily free play. Each day, children explore activities like painting, sensory bins, building with blocks, dramatic play, puzzles, and storytelling. These experiences support creativity, independence, and early skill development. As they grow, toddlers and Pre-K students revisit these concepts with greater focus, deepening their learning through supportive exploration in these areas:

Math
Math is woven into our daily routine through hands-on, playful experiences. Children explore early concepts like counting, sorting, one-to-one correspondence, and patterning during circle time and guided activities. We build on their natural interests using games, visuals, and movement to help develop a strong foundation in early math skills.
Science
Science is an integral part of our curriculum, encouraging children to explore, observe, and experiment in ways that help them make sense of the world around them. Through guided, hands-on experiences, they begin to develop early inquiry skills—asking questions, making predictions, and drawing simple conclusions. These activities support critical thinking, curiosity, and a growing understanding of cause and effect.

Art
Art is a time to explore materials, ideas, and self-expression in a hands-on and open-ended way. Children work with paint, clay, markers, collage materials, and found objects to experiment with texture, shape, and color. These creative experiences support fine motor development, problem-solving, and confidence as they begin to bring their ideas to life through art.
Literature
Storytelling and language exploration are woven into the daily routine through interactive read-alouds and book-centered activities. These experiences build listening skills, comprehension, and a love for reading. Children are encouraged to act out stories, ask questions, and express their ideas—supporting early literacy, vocabulary development, and self-expression in a playful and meaningful way.
Our Program
At Orkidz Preschool, we believe early childhood is a time to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Our play-based program is designed to support the whole child—socially, emotionally, and cognitively—through hands-on exploration and caring, individualized attention. With low teacher-to-student ratios (1:7 for preschoolers, 1:6 for toddlers, and 1:4 for infants), our educators are able to form strong bonds with each child and provide meaningful, personalized support. We foster an inclusive, joyful environment where children feel safe expressing themselves, trying new things, and developing a lifelong love of learning.
To enrich our weekly routine, we offer music, yoga, gardening, dance, nature walks, and science-based discovery activities—encouraging children to engage all their senses while building skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
Music Class
Music is a joyful and essential part of our weekly routine. Our talented music teacher keeps students engaged through singing, movement, rhythm games, and hands-on exploration with instruments and colorful props like scarves. Music supports motor development, sensory awareness, and self-expression while helping children build focus, coordination, and confidence.

Nature Walks
Our weekly nature walks give children the chance to connect with the outdoors, observe seasonal changes, and explore the world beyond the classroom. These outings spark curiosity, build observation skills, and offer opportunities for movement, mindfulness, and hands-on learning in a natural setting.

Gardening
Gardening is a hands-on way for children to connect with nature while building important skills. Activities like digging, planting, and watering help strengthen fine motor coordination and hand-eye coordination. Just as importantly, gardening supports emotional well-being by promoting calm, focus, and a sense of responsibility. It’s a meaningful part of our spring, summer, and fall curriculum.

Yoga Class
Yoga is a regular part of our program for all age groups. This fun and engaging practice supports children’s physical development by improving flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. It also nurtures emotional well-being by helping children learn to manage stress, stay focused, and build self-awareness in a calm and playful setting.

Dance Class
Dance is a lively and expressive part of our weekly routine. It helps children develop coordination, rhythm, and body awareness while supporting their physical growth. Dance also encourages creativity, builds confidence, and offers a joyful way for children to express themselves. Through group movement and music, children also practice listening skills, teamwork, and following directions in a fun and active environment.

Science and Discovery
Science and Discovery activities give children a chance to explore how things work through hands-on observation and simple experiments. They learn to ask questions, make predictions, and test ideas while building confidence and critical thinking skills. From examining animal X-rays to exploring static electricity and beginner chemistry, our teachers bring science to life in fun and creative ways.
